Fourth of July STOP DWI Crackdown

(BINGHAMTON, NY) The Fourth of July holiday will mark another in a series of STOP-DWI Crackdowns that are being conducted across New York State. The New York State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s and municipal police across Broome County will deploy special DWI enforcement efforts throughout our community to detect impaired drivers and ensure our roadways will be safe for all Broome County residents. The STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts serve to raise awareness about the dangers of driving while under the influence.

The New York State STOP-DWI Association in conjunction with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, New York State Police, New York State Sheriff’s Association and the New York State Association of Police Chiefs are promoting the following weekends as part of the 2009 statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown Campaign:
 
 
June 21st – July 5th – Fourth of July STOP-DWI Crackdown
  
August 21st – September 7th – National DWI Enforcement Effort
 
October 25th – October 31st – Halloween STOP_DWI Crackdown
 
November 20th – January 2nd – Holiday STOP-DWI Crackdown
