County Road and Bridge Construction Underway

(BINGHAMTON, NY)  During the summer months, the Broome County Highway Department is improving several roadways and bridges. Beginning on Monday, June, 29, 2009 crews will be working on the drainage structures on Taft Avenue just north of Daren Drive in Endicott. This construction will last approximately two weeks. The road will remain open for two way traffic through the construction zone; however, during daytime hours, alternating lane closures will occur. Traffic flow will be controlled by flag persons during these hours.

Additionally, Bridge replacement work will begin on the Colesville Road (CR52) Bridge # 3349200 over Ouaquaga Creek in the Town of Colesville. There will be an on-site detour that supports two way traffic with reduced speed.

It is strongly recommended that drivers seek alternate routes to avoid delays through construction areas. Motorists are urged to use caution and slow down in construction zones.

Should you have any questions or require additional information, contact Michael Restino, Deputy Commissioner of Highways, at (607) 778-2228.
